What You Need to Know...

Asalaamu alaykum! Thank you for taking the time to consider attending the first ever LMA Sports Day 2020 in Battersea park on the 22nd Aug. We are super excited and can't wait to see you all inshaAllah.

We have an array of exciting sporting games for you and your child to participate in including:

  • Potato sack race
  • Egg & spoon race
  • 3 legged race
  • Bean bag race
  • Dodge ball
  • Assault course relay
  • 50m sprint
  • 100m sprint
  • Tug of war
  • Relay race
  • Parent & child relay
  • Parent 100m sprint
  • 5 a side football
  • Rounders

We will try to complete as many of the above activities as we can inshaAllah.

1. If you would like your child(ren) to participate in this event, we would politely request that you register each child online first. It is important that we gather an idea of the expected amount of participants on the day so we can plan accordingly. Once you click on any of the buttons above, it will take you to a form wherein you  complete the information for the amount of children you plan to bring with you.

2. When you arrive at the park, you must make your way over to the registration desk and check in. Your child's name will be ticked off and your child will be assigned a coloured wrist band. The wrist band will represent the group that your child will belong to for the day. Please write your mobile number on the wrist band & inform your child that it must not be removed under any circumstances.

3. Your child will then have a few minutes to settle in and sit with the others members in his/her team.

4. Primarly we will have 4 teams of mixed ages & abilities and they are as follows:

  • Green team
  • Blue team
  • Red team
  • Yellow team

5. Once your child has been assigned a team, he/she cannot change. We will try our best to ensure that each team is equally aged and skilled inshaAllah.

6. Please remember to bring a suitable packed lunch for yourself and your children. We would kindly request you to avoid bringing any fizzy drinks, and try and keep the packed lunch as healthy as possible. Please ensure your food is nut free to the best of your ability as some children & adults attending the event have nut allergies.

7. We will provide black bin bags to dispose all rubbish and we politely request that you help us in keeping the area as clean as possible.

8. Battersea park does have toilet facilities although we can not garantee that they will be open nor vouch for the cleaniness of them. If your child needs to attend the loo, it is the responsibility of the parent and the parent alone to ensure they get there and back safely.

9. When it comes time to pray, all children will be expected to pray together in congregation with the boys at the front with the men and the girls at the back with the women. We will try to use a megaphone to ensure the prayer is as loud as possible inshaAllah.

10. The weather is expected to be sunny with a very low chance of rain. Please ensure that your children are appropriately dressed for the occasion with the correct footwear. Please expect your children to come home sweaty and messy inshaAllah.

11. Once the sports day activities are over, we will perform a small award ceromony to hand out medals and other goodies to the participants.

12. We have arranged a 5 - a - side  and also a rounders competition after the award ceromony. Children are free to select which game they would like to engage in.

13. During this time, it would be lovely for parents to join their children and participate against one another.

14. On the day we will be taking photographs and recording the event so if you would prefer your child didn't appear on camera, please speak to the front desk inshaAllah.
